Died a couple of years back, and he was the sort of musician that you really do miss. I enjoyed hm most outside the Art Ensemble, with Jack De Johnette or with his own bands. ECM gave him a bit of a polish and let him out to take further piss , (The Great Pretender) and I always admired not only his sound but also the balance he struck between Fooling Around….. and Doing It !
