Youssou N’Dour

Youssou N'Dour : Of all the current Afro-giants, Youssou remains my favourite, although Fela creates deeper, darkergrooves. It took me a while to stop worrying about the nasal quality of his voice, but I was immediately ensnared by the rhythms, textures, and colours of his backing bands. To me they sound exotic without ever being alien or unwelcoming.

Favourite tracks : "Immigres/ Bitim Rew" from the CD of the same name, "Country Boy" from "Eyes Open".
